Jugendschutz.net's Report on "How Safe is Spotify?" 2025

Spotify is the most popular service for streaming music and podcasts, with 696 million monthly active users.

Research indicates that children and young people in Germany are also active on this platform. In the 2024 JIM study, 13% of 12- to 19-year-olds surveyed listed the service among their favourite apps. However, with its huge and varied range of content, Spotify is also repeatedly confronted with criticism.

Jugendschutz.net has examined the service with regard to risks and the precautions taken by the provider to protect young users.
